I was feeling under the weather since monday. I had to rest for a day and reported for work again last tuesday. I can't say that I'm completely well as of this writing but I am getting better. I never took any medicine. Just vitamin C & zinc was enough for me, not to mention consuming a lot of veggies and fruits high in vitamin C.
It's good that we have this compressed work week. That means more time not just for myself but for my 5 year old son. Plans this saturday would be going to the market early in the morning (minus my son, of course). I'm pretty sure he'll be up tomorrow at 9am. I didn't want to deprive him of sleep, better leave him in the house.
A pre-schooler that he is, he asks a lot of questions. Questions that I can easily answer this time. Still wondering at what age will he be asking me weird questions. I'd have to admit that I am weird as ever but answering weird questions from a 5-year old would really test my intelligence, I guess.
Moving on, my saturdays & sundays are all the same. Most of the time, we (me & my son) just stay at home, watch TV, listen to music, watch youtube videos, take a nap. I would always go to the talipapa (temporary market) with my son as it is just a stones throw away from home. But considering the skyrocketing prices of everything, it's just practical and fitting to do the marketing in the nearest public market. Just 2 rides away.
I have long wanted to cook ngohiong, prepare chili garlic sauce, gourmet tuyo and calamansi jam.
Yes, I cook. I'm not a chef but I cook good food. Cooking has always been my first love. It's so fulfilling to know that someone as little as IƱigo appreciates everything that I cook. Let's just say that at a very young age, he's a food critic.
At the day care, they are on a feeding program. If he's not satisfied with the food, lacks taste or too salty, he wouldn't eat it. Believe me, he's like that. He once complained of the salty pancit prepared in School. I wouldn't forget what he said when I went home. "Pancit in school was too salty. I didn't eat it". Brutally frank, indeed. He was always honest. He would give me a thumbs up if the food is yummy.
It's good to know that at this time and age, learning how to cook is much easier. There are cooking shows, youtube videos. Back then, I have always relied on my mom, cook books and watching "Cooking with Sandy". That's how I learned. Cooking is also experimenting and I love it... In cooking, taste is your preference. So as much as possible, to be able to cook good food, you must also try to eat good food as always... try other food, don't be afraid to experiment.
