the long wait is over... for 8 months that i've never been to tagaytay, me and my roommate che were able to push through with the planned day trip to tagaytay... here's a recap of our itinerary...
at approximately 7:15 a.m. we were already at the bus terminal in edsa taft. the bus left at around 7:30 bound to tagaytay....
almost 9:00 a.m. we were already in olivarez plaza... our first stop was in lourdes church since che had never seen the new church yet...
our photo op lasted for two hours and we really had a great time goofing in front of the camera. from the church main entrance to the grotto, well we really had a lot of pictures then. about two hundred i guess...
since, rotonda crossing is just a few meters away from the church, che and i decided to just take a walk to feel the cool breeze in tagaytay. there i saw the boutique, days hotel and other hotels as well.
at around 11:00 a.m. we were already having our early lunch in chowking. our next stop, picnic grove... while we were looking for the terminal of jeepneys bound to picnic grove, i noticed a lot of ukay-ukay stores in tagaytay.. numerous people were coming in and out of the stores.
a stall of pasalubongs like key chains, t-shirts and novelty items caught my eyes... there were vast designs of key chains and purses that sell from 15 pesos to as high as 35 pesos each. if you buy 3 pcs. of key chains, instead of paying 45 pesos, a 5 pesos discount will be given to you. i bought 4 pcs while che bought 2 pcs.
the vendor was so accommodating and he even gave us the instruction to where the jeepney terminal is. it was too hot that time, since it's almost noon so he advised us to just take the tricyle to the terminal. it's been said that the terminal is about 150 meters from where we are at that time. we chose to just walk since there were no tricyles in the area at that time. probably having their lunch...
finally, we saw the terminal (thanks to the vendor who gave us the directions)... we boarded the jeepney and we paid ten pesos/head. the last time i have been to tagaytay picnic grove was in 2004. i'm no longer surprised with how the picnic grove looked like these days... i've been consistent in reading forums about tagaytay and there were a lot of reviews about it saying that the park is no longer well-maintained.
now i know why the park isn't as appealing as before. partly, it's also the fault of those people who go there. some people are just so irresponsible. they've been throwing all sorts of garbage here and there... without realizing that the trash bins are situated just meters away from them. too bad...
we only stayed there for about two hours... we didn't try the cable car since it was so hot at that time and we had to rush since we still have two destinations...
our next stop was in rsm... normally, a receptionist will assist you as soon as you arrive in rsm but when we arrived there, i think there was an event upstairs which made all the staffs busy... we looked for a perfect spot where we can enjoy the scenery of the resto and at the same time, the taal lake... the couple dining 2 tables away from us are being serenaded with a beautiful love song. che and i felt a little awkward since we don't have our respective partners with us... so we decided to go downstairs and stay there until a waiter attends us. we stayed in the nipa hut and shortly, we decided to order halo2x sa buco... our order was delivered to us in a few minutes of waiting and i almost forgot to take a photo of the halo2x to publish in my blog. the halo2x is just so tempting that i wanted to eat it that very moment it was served to me (takaw mode!)...
then, there was silence...as they say "galit-galit muna mode" while we're enjoying our halo2x... it tastes really good... one of the best halo2x that i have tasted other than the one served by buco ni fruitas...
after eating, we shot pictures endlessly while i was bullying che since she only gave the waiter a 20 peso bill as tip... hehehe.... kuripot mode pangalatok kasi!!! it was past 5pm when we left rsm...
we then headed to mahogany market to buy our pasalubong for lola.... pineapples are so cheap... 5 pcs for a hundred bucks.... just imagine a piece amounting to 20 pesos only. the extra large pineapple costs 3 for a hundred... we bought three pineapples before we left...
we waited for a bus along the highway and around 6 p.m. we're on our way back to manila. traffic was so heavy in cavite which made our trip last for about two hours...
we dropped off in coastal and went straight home... all in all, i enjoyed the entire trip though i missed bag of beans, mushroom burger and taal vista... commuting to tagaytay is more fun i guess... i'll post some of my shots later...
